NCE Subsea Creates New Opportunities
NCE Subsea contributes to the strengthening and internationalisation of the subsea industry in the Bergen area. More than 100 companies and organisations are part of the cluster network NCE Subsea.
International research shows that being part of an industry cluster with resources and activities that promotes innovation, technology development, interaction and competence are of great importance for the actors involved.
Development through Cooperation
NCE Subsea contributes to closer relations between companies in the subsea industry. More than 60 per cent of our members say NCE Subsea has contributed to them initiating projects and activities in collaboration with other companies.
We organise seminars and lectures, and contribute to interaction between R&D institutions and companies within the cluster. We also contribute in a number of other ways.
Focus on Technology
Our mission is to contribute to increased innovation within the subsea cluster in the Bergen area. Our tools are financial and technical support in establishing technology development projects. Projects NCE Subsea has been involved in have received more than 470 million Norwegian kroner in project funding.
Globalisation
We organise a series of study trips to relevant international exhibitions and conferences. This gives the participants the opportunity to build networks, while gaining valuable knowledge about international markets.
NCE Subsea promotes the Bergen area as the leading authority on subsea maintenance, modification and operation.
Assures competence
To retain the position as the worlds leading authority, we need to ensure continuous recruitment to the industry.
NCE Subsea was a driving force in setting up a bachelor degree in underwater technology which focuses on subsea operation and maintenance. The program was established by Bergen University College in 2007, in close cooperation with regional industry.
We have also contributed to establishing two new Master’s programmes at Bergen University College. These are Master’s programs within Underwater Technology and Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
