Our projects and activities on Globalisation;
Stand at international exhibitions
We are represented on stands on various international exhibitions. The purpose is to promote and market the subsea cluster in the Bergen area. For some exhibitions we invite companies in the cluster to participate on joint stands. At a NCE Subsea joint stand, each company has a dedicated space on the stand where they can promote and market their own business.
Delegations and study tours
We organise and participate in study tours to relevant international exhibitions and conferences. The purpose of the study tours is to increase subsea companies’ knowledge about markets, understanding of local conditions and business culture, and market opportunities. Participation in study tours also contribute to the establishment of networks and contacts, and networking between participating delegates.
International Competence Forum
International Competence Forum is a seminar concept which contributes to increased expertise on international issues. The seminars are half-day seminars on topics such as international strategy, market assessment, branding, contracts, management of global organisations, cultural issues and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility). International Competence Forum increases competence, and contributes to shared knowledge and networking.
Local Cluster Going Global
In 2009 we started the research project ‘Local Cluster going Global – balancing local and non-local networking’. The project is funded by the Research Council of Norway and partly funded by NCE Subsea and NCE Maritime. In this project we examine how the location of a cluster affects the companies’ internationalisation, and particularly how small and medium-sized businesses can benefit from other cluster companies in the internationalisation process.
