Master Underwater Technology
The Master’s program in Underwater Technology is an interdisciplinary engineering degree, with two possible directions of specialisation. You can choose to specialise on Marine Underwater Technology or Operation and Maintenance of Subsea Installations.
This is the first Norwegian Master’s degree on subsea technology with emphasis on maintenance, modification and operation.
The program
The program is two-year, and is a collaboration between NTNU in Trondheim and Bergen University College. Students are in Trondheim for the first year of studies, and in Bergen the second year. NTNU is responsible for the program, awarding the master’s degree.
Those accepted into the program will acquire knowledge on oil and gas recovery, marine operations, materials and corrosion technology, security and reliability.
The thesis and other project tasks are mainly to be carried out in cooperation with relevant companies. The program has close relations to the industry and to NCE Subsea.
The thesis is 30 credit points and is to be completed in the final semester.
Admission
Engineers with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, marine engineering, underwater technology, manufacturing, energy power, electric power or automation can apply for the program
